NERWARK -- An Internet radio host charged with threatening three federal judges in Chicago is trying to get released on bail.
Harold "Hal" Turner is scheduled to appear in federal court here today. The Hudson County resident was denied bail last week. He was arrested on June 24 and charged with threatening to assault or murder the three judges who refused to overturn handgun bans.

Prosecutors said Turner wrote that the judges "deserve to be killed" and provided a map showing the Chicago courthouse where they are based.
In a separate case, Turner has been charged with encouraging violence against two Connecticut lawmakers over legislation on Catholic parish finances.
